12oz. Titanium Hammer | Hickory Handle

I had the opportunity to put my new 12 oz framing hammer to work building a bunch of walls and working on a floor system and my arm is very happy. The hammer construction is solid and the finish is ok. There was a very small chip in the handle under where the head and handle are joined together but it doesn't effect performance or strength. This is a full sized framer so you still get all the swing and performance like any other framer but at half the weight. I really like the magnetic nail starter on this and I will actually use it because it is much more effective than other hammers I have used. What makes it better is that the magnet is stronger and the nail head sits deeper in the channel so it is much less likely to go flying off when you have to do a long reach to start a nail. The length is an inch shorter than my 23 oz Vaughan but isn't even noticeable. The square angle system is nice and will come in handy on days when I'm not wearing a tool belt and only carrying a pencil, tape and hammer. The only ting I would change about this would be to make the claw a little bit deeper due to testing off some nail heads while trying to remove them. If you bang a lot of nails this a must have, if your arms are tired from years of hammering this is a must have. Your arms will thank you at the end if a long day framing. If I need to get another one I am upgrading to the pro model.

Though light in weight and easy to handle, the 12 oz head and long handle make it a large hammer. You can swing it all day but it takes alot of space. Quality, without question, is great. It's just larger, physically, than I was expecting. It's my second Boss Hammer. Every job needs the right tool. Thanks.

The only reason I gave this hammer 4 stars and not five was that five means perfect and this was one step away. My hammer came with a slight milling issue on the top next to the magnetic nail holder which I'm sure is a one off but none the less it is a defect. Other than that the hammer is great, swings nice, hits really hard for a 12 oz hammer, and the squaring system is nice to have although I don't use it very often as I almost always have my speed square in my belt.
